Food Allergy Testing (40 foods) £120
There are many people out there offering so called allergy testing using all types of obscure gadgets and gismo's. Many of these "tests" are based more on science fiction that actual science. The only way to truly determine if someone has an allergy to a food or food group is through a blood test. This allows us to determine if the immune system has developed antibodies to specific foods - which will cause varying degrees of allergic response. This simple pin-prick blood test will be sent off to the diagnostic lab based in Cambridge. Results within 10 days.
Rheumatoid Screening £80
Rheumatoid arthritis is a degenerative condition affecting the joints. It is often a hereditary condition that is autoimmune in nature. This refers to when the immune system attacks some of the body's own tissues - in this case the connective tissue within the joint. Early diagnosis is key to successful management of this condition. Our simple pin-prick blood test can detect the biochemical markers of this condition (CPA + Rheumatoid Factor) up to 5 years before the first symptoms. If this test is positive you MUST discuss this with your GP. Candida Albicans Testing £75
Candida albicans is a yeast that naturally lives within our gut. It can become problematic however if it is allowed to flourish. Problems include leaky gut syndrome, skin rashes, fatigue, headaches, bloating, and stomach cramps. Candida can flourish if we have a high intake of bread/yeast, sugar, and alcohol. This is also a pin-prick blood test. Results within 10 days.
Osteoporosis Screening £75
Osteoporosis is a chronic progressive condition in which the bones become more porous and brittle. This leads to skeletal distortion and increased risk of fractures. Actual definitive diagnosis of osteoporosis requires a bone density scan at a hospital. However, if there is a history of this condition in your family, it will serve as a useful tool to know how rapidly your own body breaks down bone in order to change your diet and lifestyle to prevent its occurrence. That's what our test does. It measures the levels of N-telopeptide (NTx) in the urine. NTx is a marker of how rapidly bone is being broken down. Results within 10 days.
